One of the interesting and challenging questions, which is a retailer of semi-precious stone? Size/price mean nothing - it's how you and your fiancee feel about the ring. Many times, my wife chooses a less expensive ring because she likes the way it looks as compared to other more expensive rings. Engagement/wedding sets are extremely personal, and you should get what she likes (as long as you can afford it...lol)

For the record - my wife's engagement ring cost $500 (1/4 carat heart shaped solitaire). We upgraded to a 1/2 carat heart shaped certified on our 10 year anniversary.
